Why Sheep? is Gaku Uchida. Gaku studied Contemporary Music under the well-known Japanese composer Shuko Mizuno, who was a close friend of John Cage, between 1989-1992. Between 1993-4, Gaku became a recording assistant under Haruomi Hosono of the Yellow Magic Orchestra. "Two strange tracks of esoteric sampladelica. 'Earthborn' plays garish funk guitars off canned horn stabs, garish saxophones and martial chants and grunts. Totally lacking in self-restraint, it finds its opposite in 'Clouds 757', which layers plucked and bowed strings, pianos and hushed percussion into a slow-mo wrestling match between Harold Budd and Steve Reich" (The Wire). Remixes from Recloose and Clubbed To Death. "The Recloose mix is fantastic" (The Wire) "The Recloose is great. Love It!" (IDJ Magazine). "Another superb Recloose mix finds the mighty Matthew Chicoine in fine form. The original mix and Clouds 757 are also worthy of further investigation" (DMC Update). Tracklist A1. Earthborn A2. Clouds 757 B1. Earthborn (Recloose remix) B2. Earthborn (Clubbed To Death remix) www.myspace.com/3ear |
