TREAD 4 follows the highly praised TREAD 3 (3ECD/LP-006), released in March 2003 by Third Ear. TREAD3 was regarded as one of the best albums of the year by those who heard it and were seduced by its understated beauty. TREAD 4 begins in more upbeat fashion. The grooves shuffle and kick more.
The mood is more exuberant and the intensity of the music is of a different kind.
The music is reminiscent of Larry Heard, but always retains it's own sound. TREAD 4 confirms Hiroshi Watanabe as a genuine talent. IDJ Magazine said; "TREAD 4 is a sparkling example of how deep, beautiful, and accessible electronic music can be".
